A nursery school where learning is serious fun in a beautiful new setting, moments from Barnes Bridge.
Choosing your child’s first school is one of the most important decisions you’ll make. At Young England Kindergarten, we’ve spent more than 60 years helping children build the confidence, curiosity and love of learning that prepares them for school and life beyond.
Our new Barnes nursery brings together experienced teachers, small class sizes and carefully designed curriculum with an exciting range of extra-curricular activities within a beautiful environment where every child is truly known.
While our Barnes location is new, the educational philosophy, leadership and standards behind it are long established and trusted by generations of families.
A family-owned nursery offering the care and educational standards families expect from leading independent schools.

Early literacy & learning
Strong literacy skills begin long before children learn to read.
Through storytelling, conversation, phonics, play and carefully planned teaching, we develop confident communicators and enthusiastic learners. Every activity is designed to build the language, curiosity and independence children need for a successful transition to school.
Every child truly known
Our small class sizes and exceptional teacher-to-child ratios allow us to understand every child’s unique personality, interests and development. Close partnerships with families ensure children feel supported both at nursery and at home.
Beyond the classroom
Education extends well beyond the classroom walls. Alongside our curriculum, children enjoy sport, music, drama, creative activities and local outings that bring learning to life. These experiences encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence and a genuine enthusiasm for discovering the world around them. We also offer parent workshops and engaging holiday camps throughout the year.
